About me
A life dedicated to horses
I am Oriol Badia, the technical director of Ob Equestrian Team.
My passion for horses began in childhood when a relative owned an equestrian center, and my parents and I would visit on weekends. Every chance I got, I would ride a pony (and the more rebellious it was, the more fun I had!). Over the years, I developed a deep bond with these incredible animals.
From vocation to professional training
At the age of 14, I sought out a riding school closer to home to train regularly, and by 16, I was certain that I wanted to dedicate my professional life to this world.
I obtained my Técnico 1 Certification at Club Hípic Collserola (Sant Cugat del Vallès, Barcelona), which allowed me to train as a rider at a stable in Cardedeu, working closely with Jan Nivelle. There, I gained valuable experience riding high-level schoolmasters. Later, I moved to Mallorca to work at Yeguada Es Fangar (Felanitx, near Manacor), a renowned Hanoverian horse breeding farm. It was there where I had the opportunity to learn from Adolfo Martínez de Bujo, a master of piaffe and passage.
A parenthesis to grow and come back stronger
After this period, I stepped away from the equestrian world for two years to focus on personal growth. When I returned, I moved to Germany to work at Gestüt Lewitz, the prestigious breeding farm of Paul Schockemöhle, where I gained extensive experience working with young horses. Later, I relocated to France, working in private stables while also earning my Técnico 2 Certification in Dressage at CAVA Horse.
Back home: Tarragona, 2021
Eventually, I returned to Spain, settling in Tarragona in 2021. With over 20 years of experience in the equestrian world and more than 10 years of professional experience, I have had the privilege of training with top international riders in Dressage and Show Jumping. I apply all this knowledge and experience to the training of my students.
